Vacuum Cleaning – Regularly and the proper way
When used as a floor covering with normal foot traffic, vacuum cleaning of a fine carpet is advisable at least once a week with the suction accessory of a tank type or upright vacuum machine.
Never perform vacuum cleaning with a rotating power head or beater bar. Always direct the suction device with the pile and not against it! (It’s a bit like stroking a cat’s fur in the wrong direction. It doesn’t like it…and neither does your rug.)
Oriental carpets, area rugs and runners can be fragile. Use extra care but they should be vacuumed often so that they remain in peak condition.
Important note: Do not vacuum the fringe.
Vacuum cleaning prevents premature wear and tear
Regular vacuum cleaning prevents dust on the surface of your area rug to penetrate and going deep into the pile. Dirty and dusty rugs wear prematurely. Your oriental rugs and runners’ natural fibers will not become packed down with regular vacuuming.
